Dweller On The Threshold – Dweller On The Threshold, 2009

Posted in Review on August 26th, 2009 by beerman

Dark Ambient Noise and Extreme Death Doom. It gets darker and darker with every track until it becomes almost evil. This is an original blend of slow and extreme Death Doom and even slower mediaeval Gothic doom with it’s pipe organs and gurgling vocals.

Gigs gigs gigs

Posted in Site News on August 23rd, 2009 by admin

I have never really been happy with the gig section of the forum – it is good for discussing gigs but as a tool for finding out about gigs it just didn’t cut it.

So today I have set up a gig section on the main site – it is going to list every gig that comes our way, so if you are in a band and want your gig listed here drop me a line!

Dronehouse + Sabazius – Split, 2009

Posted in Review on August 20th, 2009 by beerman

Dronehouse deliver droning ambient soundscapes. Crude melodies sit in the mud as synthesiser clouds swirl above. It’s trance, dark, Doom and ethereal.

The Sabazius piece is stunning. Parred down, beauty, intensity and Doom in the vein of ‘Until Death Overtakes Me’. A living, breathing piece of organic music.
